Incredible Challenges You Can Do for Charity

Taking on a charity challenge is the perfect way to combine an adventure of a lifetime whilst supporting your chosen charity. Whether you take on the challenge solo or get your work colleagues together for a fantastic team building challenge, you will come back with memories that will last a lifetime.

We have rounded up some of our favourite challenges, ranging in difficulty from challenging to extreme. Take a look and hopefully you will feel inspired to take on a challenge of a lifetime and do something fantastic for a good cause.

 

Trekking Challenges

 

Great Wall of China Trek

Duration: 9 Days / Grading: Challenging (1)

“You have not lived if you have not been to the Great Wall” - so the saying goes – and we totally agree! One of the New Seven Wonders of the World, The Great Wall of China stretches for 6,000km across mountains and valleys – a site that is nothing short of impressive.

Our Great Wall of China Trek is a fantastic charity challenge, as we hike for five days along this magnificent man-made structure. We also help to rebuild a section of the wall – an experience exclusive to Global Adventure Challenges - before having some free time to explore and celebrate our achievements in Beijing. This is definitely something to add to your bucket list!

 

TrekFest – The Peaks

Duration: 1 Day / Grading: Tough (2)

This is the ultimate endurance charity challenge, as you trek for either 25km or 50km through the stunning Peak District. This challenge will push you to your limits, both physically and mentally, as you make the miles count for your chosen charity.

This is more than your average trekking challenge. TrekFest is a full weekend of fun – with complimentary camping, an event village (including an inflatable bar!) and full support from our amazing event crew throughout, TrekFest has it all!

The Alps Trek

Duration: 5 Days / Grading: Tough (2)

This fantastic trek sees us hiking through three countries in just three days. The breathtaking Mont Blanc region of the Alps, full of natural beauty, is the perfect setting for this charity challenge.

We trek through France, Switzerland and Italy – a challenging trek, with plenty of ups and downs! However, we will be fully rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountain range and gorgeous waterfalls. Taking five days in total, this is a perfect challenge for those with limited time. 

 

Kilimanjaro Trek

Duration: 11 days / Grading: Extreme (3)

This is your chance to reach the roof of Africa! This is one of the most popular and impressive charity challenges out there!

Can you take on Kilimanjaro? Absolutely! As long as you put in the right training and preparation, this challenge is definitely achievable! We take the beautiful Machame Route through tropical rainforest, alpine desert and moorlands to summit the world’s highest free-standing mountain – rising 5,895m above sea level. This is a challenging trek at altitude, which is bound to take you out of your comfort zone but will leave you with an overwhelming sense of achievement!

 

3 Peaks Challenge

Duration: 3 days / Grading: Extreme (3)

An iconic UK charity challenge, the 3 Peaks Challenge involves summiting the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.

Climbing 10,000 feet and walking for 22 miles, we will explore picturesque mountain ranges, stunning scenery and experience the sunset over Mickledore. We start by hiking Ben Nevis, before taking on Scafell Pike at night and then finish the challenge by summiting Snowdon. Take on this classic trekking challenge and raise funds for your chosen charity.

Cycling Challenges

 

London to Paris Bike Ride

Duration: 5 Days / Grading: Challenging (1)

One of the most iconic cycle challenges out there; the London to Paris Bike Ride is an exciting and achievable fundraising event!

We spend 4 days in the saddle, as we cycle from capital to capital. We leave London and cycle through the gorgeous English countryside, before crossing the Channel to Calais. From here we cycle along French countryside lanes, traditional market towns and through rolling green hills. Our spectacular finish awaits us as we reach the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe before reaching the Eiffel Tower. This is definitely one of the most exciting experiences in Europe!

 

Cycle Cuba

Duration: 9 Days / Grading: Challenging (1)

This charity challenge takes us on a journey through history and culture. White sand beaches and exciting colonial towns – Cuba is an ideal location for a cycling challenge!

We start in Havana, Cuba’s capital, famous for its culture and architecture.  We then journey along the Caribbean Coast, visit Trinidad – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and end in Santa Clara with a celebratory dinner! A 373km cycle over 5 days – taking you on an incredible journey!

Cycle Burma

Duration: 9 days / Grading: Tough (2)

This is another favourite challenge of ours, and a chance for you to experience the real Burma, untouched by tourism.

Cycling approximately 360km over five days, we witness local life – far from the tourist trail and have a chance to explore Burma’s most beautiful sites including the magnificent Bagan; an ancient city filled with thousands of temples. We also explore the last royal capital, Mandalay, where we visit the ancient monastery, the palace and much more. If you’re looking to explore a stunning country untouched by tourism, then this is the perfect challenge for you.

 

Land’s End to John O’Groats Cycle

Duration: 13 Days / Grading: Extreme (3)

One of the most challenging UK cycle challenges – our Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle takes you on a journey the full length of the UK, through fantastic and diverse scenery.

On this 12-day challenge we cycle through England, Wales and Scotland – and across 12 counties, covering approximately 1000 miles. This challenge will most certainly test your limits and push you to your boundaries – but there is no better way to experience the UK’s beauty. Starting our journey from the rocky cliffs of Land’s End we journey through the rolling hills of Dartmoor, passing the stunning mountains of the Lake District and up to the northernmost point of the UK mainland – John O’Groats. An iconic challenge which will leave you with an unbeatable sense of achievement.

Sledding Challenges

 

The Lapland Husky Trail

Duration: 8 Days / Grading: Tough (2)

Are you looking for a challenge with a difference? Then our Lapland Husky Trail is for you. This is one of the most unique charity challenges on offer, and something you should definitely add to your bucket list!

Covering a distance of 250km, we spend five days sledding through the rolling highlands and deep forests of Lapland, from Norway into Sweden. This is a unique challenge, full of hands on experiences. We erect our own tents, cook our own food and look after our team of huskies. We finish this epic challenge at the world famous Ice Hotel – the first ever hotel made of ice and snow. Another one of the highlights of this fantastic adventure is the chance to see Northern Lights – the Earth’s natural light display. This is definitely an experience of a lifetime.
