Marketing Officer - Part Time (20 - 25 hours per week)

Salary: £24,720 per annum on a pro-rata basis

Hour of Work: 20 - 25 hours per week on a pro-rata basis 

Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

Global Adventure Challenges are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and effective Marketing Officer to join our team. We are looking for an individual with an interest or experience in working in adventure travel or the outdoor sector, with a talent for communication and content creation.

The Marketing team are responsible for successfully promoting our challenges to individuals, charities and corporates, with the primary aim of ensuring that monthly registration targets are met, but also to market Global Adventure Challenges’ services as a whole. The Marketing Officer will work with our Digital Marketing Manager, assisting with the delivery of our marketing campaigns. This involves, but is not limited to:

  • Managing and monitoring all social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Driving positive engagement on social media with participants and other stakeholders wherever possible
  • Developing the company’s presence on emerging social media channels, including TikTok
  • Communicating with followers and respond to comments and messages in a timely way, liaising with the Digital Marketing Manager and/or Customer Care team when needed
  • Creating, monitoring and maintaining event participant groups on Facebook
  • Assisting in ensuring the website is kept up to date and relevant, in addition to writing creative copy for challenge pages and blog posts
  • Assisting the Digital Marketing Manager in the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns
  • Staying up to date with developments in our industry and identifying any opportunities for us to enhance our participants’ experience
  • Providing other teams within the business with marketing support when required

 

Administration

  • Assisting with the creation of reports from various marketing campaigns including but not limited to Google Ads, email sends, SEO and other marketing streams
  • Assisting in the development of PowerPoint Presentations for information evenings for charities, participants and corporates
  • Recording accurate minutes and actions from monthly marketing meetings

 

Other tasks

  • Developing and suggesting new marketing and client sourcing streams for the business
  • Ensuring all correspondence (written and verbal) is to the highest standard
  • Alongside the Digital Marketing Manager, implementing any new marketing procedures that will benefit the business
  • Any other duties as and when required under instruction from the Directors

 

Essential Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Good eye for detail
  • Ability to multitask and to work to strict deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience writing copy for a range of online and offline media
  • A keen understanding of social media channels

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
  • A marketing-related qualification, for example, a CIM qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in the charitable sector or travel industry

 

An interest in or experience of working in the charitable sector and/or outdoor activities such as cycling and trekking is desirable, but not essential as training for this office-based role will be given.
